To be filled with the Life of Christ – Part 1

Then He breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit. John20:22

Firstly, to be filled with the life of Christ means to be filled with the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is intoxicating and when you are truly filled, He owns your soul. John 16:13-15 ‘But when the Friend comes, the Spirit of the Truth, He will take you by the hand and guide you into all the truth there is. He won’t draw attention to Himself, but will make sense out of what is about to happen and, indeed, out of all that I have done and said. He will honor Me; He will take from Me and deliver it to you. Everything the Father has is also Mine. That is why I’ve said, He takes from me and delivers to you’. Every man will be filled with something, there is no vacuum. You can’t be filled with alcohol and the Holy Spirit; they don’t mix, like oil and water. It’s either or. Luke 24:29, the proof of the infilling of the Holy Spirit is power and not tongues. Jesus did not say you will be endued with tongues after you are filled with the Holy Spirit. Check, is your life filled with power? If the answer is yes – praise God for you and keep getting filled with the Holy Spirit. If the answer is no, you are not filled with the Holy Spirit point blank! Even if you are speaking in tongues –that is a byproduct. What separates the Christian walk from every other thing is power. Don’t let anyone deceive you, you need power. To be filled with the Holy Spirit is to be filled with the power of God. The power to pray and intercede for others; speak the Word; make sense out of the Word of God; to honour God; to receive from the Father and to tell others about Christ Jesus.

Prayer: Father I come before you in Jesus Name, asking that you anoint me afresh with the Holy Spirit and with Power so that I can be just like Christ Jesus. Amen.
