Total Commitment

He gave His life to free us from every kind of sin, to cleanse us, and to make us His very own people, totally committed to doing good deeds. Titus 2:14

Total commitment is a process which can only start with Jesus. To even begin to understand what commitment means as a child of God you must first understand what commitment means to the Father. ‘He gave His life to free us from every kind of sin, to cleanse us, and to make us His very own people, totally committed to doing good deeds’. Form the second He became a man, Jesus was totally committed to God’s purpose. And for this He spent 30 years preparing for this assignment. He gave His all to it, not stepping out of line even once. That in doing this, you and I can grasp what total commitment is. In order for us to have total commitment, Jesus took away the things that could possibly deter us so we can be focused. You have been freed, cleansed and renamed so you would have a shot at total commitment. God still acts out this picture of total commitment to us daily in our lives. Can you imagine the Christian walk without the Holy Spirit or without the ever watchful eyes of the Father? You and I won’t want that in our lives but we are giving that to God. God requires a commitment to living right, praying, extending a Word to those who do not know Jesus. We want to be deep with God in our personal relationships without being committed – it doesn’t work. We grow by commitment and its commitment to the next level that takes you to the next level.

Prayer: Father, kindly help me fully understand the level of commitment you require from me at every point in my life and of my walk with you. In Jesus Name, Amen.
