100% Lord!
I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat is planted in the soil and dies, it remains alone. But its death will produce many new kernels—a plentiful harvest of new lives. John 12: 24
Do you just want to be known as a Christian or do you want to live a life worthy of the Name of Jesus. A woman cannot bear her fiancé’s name until she is married to him. There has to be a leaving and cleaving. God has given us the relationships around us so that we can understand what He expects from us. How often you go to Church or how big your Bible is, isn’t a representation of who your lord is. Jesus wants to be everything to you. Jesus is not interested in some of you, He is interested in all. If Jesus is not Lord of all of your life, guess what He is not Lord at all in your life. If there is compartment in your life that is still run by your agenda, then Jesus is not your Lord of your life. A lot of us think it is enough to give Jesus Christ the lordship of 45%, 50%, 70%. Or perhaps even being generous by giving Him 90% lordship. Jesus Christ has to be 100% Lord of our lives or He isn’t Lord at all. In the above scripture, Jesus was otherwise telling Philip that man must die to self to become alive in Christ. Jesus was very clear on this in scripture; anyone who will follow Jesus must deny himself, take up his cross and follow Him. The cross has been described as where your will meets with God’s will. As 100% Lord, you would have to submit to the will of God completely – the cross situation. Being in Christ is not about occasional sacrifices but a life of submitting your choices to God especially when you can go ahead to make a decision on your own. A choice to trade your independence for complete dependence on God and His will. Make it a point today to consciously go to Jesus for counsel with the aim of handing over lordship completely to Him alone.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, I hand over Lordship of my life completely to you. Be magnified in my thoughts, words and deeds always.
