Satisfaction

The Lord, will comfort Israel again and have pity on her ruins. Her desert will blossom like Eden, her barren wilderness like the garden of the Lord. Joy and gladness will be found there. Songs of thanksgiving will fill the air. Isa.51:3 [NLT]

The truth is that, the only person you are capable of totally pleasing is God. The converse is also true; the only person who can totally please you is God. If you think that when you get married you would be able to please your spouse completely, nothing can be further than that from the truth. You cannot totally please your spouse and your spouse cannot totally please you. Stop looking for fulfillment in the wrong places. You need to turn to God. A lot of people are beating themselves down because of the adultery of their spouses. They are saying perhaps I was not good enough, perhaps if I had learnt how to do this and that. Listen it has nothing to do with you, perhaps you may have contributed to it. The truth is that even when you have done your best, your best is incapable of totally satisfying your spouse. That is why any man who does not know God or is actively following God will mess up. Have you ever wondered why men of God follow God so hard? Well I’ll tell you, it is because they know what is chasing them. Some foolish wives whose husbands are eager to serve God are busy trying to stop them. If he wants to spend the whole Sunday morning in church, it is in your best interest to encourage and allow him to do it. You should even be the one suggesting that he adds a spiritual growth class to the list and support him by joining him too. Understand this, a man must follow something and as his wife your best option is God. The only person you are capable of pleasing is God so set yourself free from every people-pleasing syndrome. Everybody wants to befriend the person who succeeds in pleasing God, ask Joseph. Even if they had abused you in the past when you are focused on pleasing God, watch, it is just a matter of time they will seek you out for reconciliation.

Prayer: Lord, the grace to play to the audience of one, the audience of my Savior alone give unto me in Jesus name.
