And God Said: Fruitfulness

And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. Gen.1:28

God said and is still saying fruitfulness. Every one trusting God for the fruit of the womb let your rejoicing start today because God has already spoken concerning your situation. Believe His Word today and by this time next year, you will be singing a different song. If it were me that said these words, then I give you full rights to question its authenticity. However, ‘…be fruitful, and multiply…’ because God says so. You know God’s Word, but guess what the enemy knows it too and he will try to resist you, particularly in the area fruitfulness. Fruitfulness is God’s pronouncement on every man and woman including you. Fruitfulness is usually associated with physical fruitfulness – children but this word goes beyond that to speak to other aspects of life. ‘…replenish the earth, and subdue it’; to replenish the earth and subdue it you need to be fruitful mentally. Some people are mentally barren. They do not have ideas and as such they are experiencing mental barrenness. Take the Word of fruitfulness today and speak it over your mind and watch God’s Word accomplish just that. Some others are emotionally barren, always causing trouble for people because they cannot build or sustain relationships. Every form of bareness, God will uproot today if you will allow His word into that situation. God’s word is not limited by time and that is why it still accomplishes today what it did in the days of old. If you are married without children and you desire to have children plus those who desire to have more– kings and nations will come out of your loins [Gen.35:11]. Everything that has stood as a road block to your fruitfulness up until now, the Word of God has come to remove.

Prayer: [Insert your name], God says you are fruitful mentally, physically, reproductively, emotionally, verbally, financially, resourcefully, academically, socially and spiritually.

  1. “And God said unto them, be fruitful…” A tree that bears fruit is termed as fruitful. However, the tree is the result of a seed that was not only sown but nurtured. God has planted in us different seeds(or talents if you will) and the type of fruit you bear is largely dependent on the seed in you. We need to understand who God has called us to be so that we can nurture that seed until it reproduces much fruit. Sometimes we may not be fruitful when we decide to be somebody else thereby leaving our primary calling to struggle elsewhere. For example, a pineapple tree that strives to be a Mahogany tree is evidently setting itself up for failure because it will neither produce pineapples nor will it be as useful as the Mahogany and the farmer would uproot it and throw it away! The word of God is a seed that can grow when nourished. That’s why the Bible encourages us to study so that we can show ourselves approved. Everything we need to be fruitful in all areas of our lives is in the Word of God. Today’s devotional tells us that “God’s Word is not limited by time and that is why it still accomplishes today what it did in the days of old”. I believe and receive fruitfulness in all areas of my life today in Jesus’ name amen! Have a fruitful year!
