God’s Kingdom
Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in Heaven, so in earth’Luke11:2b [NLT]
The Good News is about the Kingdom [Matt.4:23]. Jesus came to preach the Good News and establish God’s Kingdom in the hearts of men here on earth. When Jesus sent out the disciples, He told them to go and preach the Kingdom of God to everyone. The word Kingdom is derived from two words, King and Domain. The word Kingdom implies that there is a King and that King has an area of influence called His domain [where He has dominion]. When we talk about the Kingdom of God, we mean God as the King and the area God has influence, His domain. ‘The Lord has made the Heavens His throne; from there He rules over everything’ Ps.103:19. It means that Heaven is God’s Kingdom and He wants to extend that Kingdom to us here on earth. God wants to extend His will, His desires and His government in Heaven to us here on earth. Jesus taught us to desire God’s Kingdom and His Will [Luke11:2b]. In the Kingdom, the state of the subjects is a direct reflection of the King. If the subjects are in poverty, it means the king is poor. God wants us to be a direct reflection of Him here on earth and also reach out to others. Which is why if you are under the complete authority of God, you are a joint heir of the benefits of the Kingdom. You begin to reflect God’s glory, enjoy divine health, prosperity, success in academics, finances, success in marriage, and so much more. As Christians, the only command Jesus gave us was, after you have received the Good News about the Kingdom, you are also to preach the Good News. Let your life be a direct reflection of God’s Kingdom and a testimony of obedience. The Kingdom you operate under determines what your life produces.
Prayer: I declare that God takes dominion over my life henceforth in Jesus Name. I will begin to reflect God’s Kingdom in Jesus Name.
