Germinate In Christ

‘My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me’ Gal.2:20

The second step in growing spiritual roots is to germinate in Christ. Allow yourself to die in Christ. Allow the old man to die in Christ ‘My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me’. [2 Cor.5:17]. Allow the germination to take place because it is not every seed that is planted that germinates. The parable of the sower: the first seeds that fell by the way side were eaten by the birds of the air and did not get the chance to germinate. So death must take place for germination to occur. This is a difficult process for a lot of us and that is why so many people have issues with Jesus. ‘Jesus loves us the way we are but He loves us too much to leave us the way we are’. Death is a difficult process. Some of us agree to die and put our eyes on the resurrection. Even Jesus set His sight on the glory that was before Him when it came to death. So we start the process of dying and we get to a point where it gets really tough. And we go to God promising that we have learnt our lessons and we run away from the furnace. You probably will have fresh air for a season but the flesh will rise again. Your life is not about you anymore; it is about Jesus. We have to die to ourselves. We cannot grow spiritual roots unless we die to ourselves. It is a very difficult process no doubt. I encourage you to read ‘the breaking of the outer man and the release of the spirit’ by Watchman Lee. This book changed my life, it will get though when you are in the process but it will change your life also. God is the ancient of days He does not grow old. You can spend ten years learning, He will wait for you. I have learnt to submit to God and learn the lesson He wants me to learn because I do not want to spend ten years on one lesson. Go through it but come out on top. When you submit to God, you always come out on top.

Prayer: ‘My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me’
