Experiencing His Face
‘Then the LORD came down in a cloud and stood there with him; and He called out His own name, Yahweh’ Exodus 34:5
Seeking the Face is experiencing the presence of God. Really when you seek His face, you will find fullness of joy in His presence and discover His right hand which has pleasures for evermore. God will work amazing miracles in our lives by His hand but let us seek His presence. And walk in an increased measure of His presence that you carry. It comes by hunger, you must desire His presence. When you seek His face you get access into His presence. God’s presence comes with responsibilities. It demands that we conduct ourselves in certain ways. The Bible says that, God showed the children of Israel His acts. The acts are a byproduct of His hand. When God’s hand moves, you will see His acts; but God showed Moses His ways. His ways are a product of His presence. The people that know His presence know His ways. The simplest thing for God to do is to answer that desire that you have been asking and praying about. It does not change Him from being God. It does not make Him poorer or richer. If God gives you twins, healing and breakthrough, does that make Him better? It does not change anything. It is only when you seek Him first that all other things will be added unto you. However, it gives God great pleasure when like Moses we say ‘Lord, if your presence does not go with me, I am not interested’. Now envision that request you bring to God daily, those special things you have been trusting God for. Now be true to yourself, do you need it more than you need God. Ask yourself and answer the question truthfully. If God were to grant you that request today on the condition that you take it without His presence, will it still be so appealing to you. What will you do? That will determine whether God will get value at all from this whole process or whether it is just about us.
Prayer [song]: I want to be where You are. Dwelling in Your presence. Sitting at Your table. Surrounded by Your glory. In Your presence, that’s where I always want to be. I just want to be with You.
