A New Thing II

‘New honors are constantly bestowed on me, and my strength is continually renewed’ Job 29:20.    

With God there are always new levels to climb spiritually. No one can ever say they have arrived with God. This is why He is the Beginning and the End; each breaking day births newness. ‘…five of you shall chase an hundred, and a hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight’ Lev.26:8 [versus] ‘…one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight’ Deut.32:30. God is consistently reviewing plans to include new clauses so you need to be ready to evolve along with Him otherwise you will become un-usable. With God every vessel is functional as well as beautiful. You cannot keep your fire burning today with only the spiritual experiences you had years ago. Yes they are necessary but the new thing God is birthing now calls for fresh experiences. I know it makes you feel good and you derive your self-worth from it but God says forget it because it is nothing compared to what He is about to do. It is nothing compared to the next step in your spiritual journey. God led you to pray and the dead came back to life; yes but it’s time to move unto prophesying over dry bones. Many of us are still relishing the spiritual victories of yesterday. The anointing of yesterday is not sufficient for the task of tomorrow. The anointing of yesterday was sufficient for yesterday’s task. The issue of tomorrow needs tomorrow’s anointing. Let go of the past, lay hold of the future and run towards it. ‘I do not mean that I am already as God wants me to be. I have not yet reached that goal, but I continue trying to reach it and to make it mine. Christ wants me to do that… I keep trying to reach the goal and get the prize for which God called me through Christ to the life above’ Phil.3:10 [NCV]. Do not settle for a portion of the calling alone. Like Paul, strive to be who God has called you to be and that requires constant spiritual evolution. Jesus is the center of our quest and of our pressing. If you lose sight of this, you will be in real trouble with God.

Prayer: Father, as I read Your Word daily, help me be renewed in my mind and in Your ways. Enlarge my capacity to perceive and birth new fruit for You in Jesus Name.
