Dispelling Internal Storms

‘When besieged, I’m calm as a baby. When all hell breaks loose, I’m collected and cool’ Ps.27:3 [MSG]

The storm within is more lethal than the storm without. As soon as you secure the presence of God, the first thing He proceeds to deal with is your internal storm. Jesus has to address every internal storm of anxiety, worry, depression, fear, uncertainty, and doubt; before dealing with the storm without [Matt.6:25]. Of course you will find yourself having to go through very tough situations. You must choose not to worry but instead keep your heart stayed on God. You may not have the answers but you know the God who has all the answers. You may not know tomorrow but you worship the Alpha and Omega. Once God can successfully deal with the storms within, the storm without will be inconsequential. However, if the enemy can maintain your storm within, he can kill you even without the external storm. The number one agenda of the internal storm is to shatter your faith. ‘And it is impossible to please God without faith’ Heb.11:6. This is why it is paramount for God to deal with and dispel every internal storm. ‘Though a mighty army surrounds me, my heart will not be afraid. Even if I am attacked, I will remain confident’ Ps.27:3 [NLT]. God wants to still that storm so that when He prepares a table before you in the presence of your enemies, you will not run away [Ps.23:5]. Rather you will keep your focus on the beauty in His presence and experience an overflow of His power. Then God will proceed to deal with the external storms. Be still first [internal tranquility] and know He is God [the external tranquility]. God is your Fortress, your Shield, and your Buckler; you do not need to be afraid. Inspite of what you see or don’t see, do not let your heart be troubled. God wants you to know that He will never leave your side. You may not be strong enough to deal with storms both internal and external but you have a God who never fails. And He has promised to neither leave you nor forsake you.

Prayer: Father, I lay down my internal storms before Your throne of grace and I ask that You dispel everyone. Lead me to the point where even if I am attacked I will remain calm, in Jesus Name.
