Keep On Going

‘Such things were written in the Scriptures long ago to teach us. And the Scriptures give us hope and encouragement as we wait patiently for God’s promises to be fulfilled’ Rom.15:4

‘Then the Lord said, It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper who is just right for him’ [gen.2:18]. The reason why God did not say woman in this portion of scripture is because there was no woman on the scene yet. God is saying in essence, it is not good for the man or woman to be alone. This is your written destiny concerning a life partner. God did not say the absence of a partner is a problem. He said, I have and I will provide the solution. He has promised to make a helper who is just right for you.  I have heard a lot of people say God is no longer in the business of linking people to their spouse. This is not very correct. God can and will lead you to your spouse but God will not force you. And God will lead you if you so desire it. It is what God says concerning the person He leads you to that matters and not tribe or current social standing. However, you cannot afford to become unattractive or not carry yourself well because God will lead you. Men look on the outward appearance, its only God that sees the heart. You might have a good heart but are dressed shabbily. The truth is that the person looking does not have a heart reading machine. Note that this is not to encourage carnality. If your outward appearance is attractive but your inward appearance is foul, then you will chase him away. But then, if your inward appearance is beautiful and your outward appearance is repulsive, he will not even come at all. Revelations right? Let us not over spiritualize some things; we must also be practical about our lives. Scripture is profitable to instruct. ‘…by His wounds you are healed’ [1Pet.2:24]. This is your written destiny concerning health. Now that you have located it in the Word, own it personally. Keep on going, locate your destiny written concerning the other areas of your life in the Bible. Remember what is written is written. This is just to get you started. Sit with the Word and God’s Spirit and locate your specific destiny written.

Prayer: Holy Spirit, lead me into discovering my specific destiny written in the Word, in Jesus Name.
