Safety
‘Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for You are close beside me. Your rod and Your staff protect and comfort me’ Ps.23:4
‘Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for You are close beside me’. Safety is not the absence of danger. Safety is in the presence of God. People are very quick to think that safety is the absence of danger. And if they were to rewrite Psalm 23:4, it would look something like this – ‘I will fear no evil if I walk through a path that is without the shadow of death’. In other words, they will have no fear if God will just take care of the shadow of death and sort out the giants. God is saying, do not be afraid because ‘I AM’ with you. ‘I AM’ bigger than every giant that you can or cannot see. You need to walk tall inspite of the giants because you have the backing of the Great ‘I AM’. God wants to do awesome things in our lives so we must not let fear cripple us. What has God instructed you to do and fear is keeping you from doing? In what direction is God leading you and fear is crippling you? You need to step out inspite of your fear. The reality is that the fear may remain but you have to choose not to focus on it. Every one experiences fear at one point or the other. Moses took the assignment to rescue Israel inspite of fear. I would rather try and be told it cannot be done, than not try and be told it could have been done only if I tried. Trust me, you cannot stomach or live with the thought that fear made you fail God. Do not be afraid; do not let fear stop you dead in your tracks. A lot of the things you count as accomplishments today were done inspite of fear. A lot of things we do, we do scared. Yet not afraid of the fear but instead, holding unto God because you know that it can only work if you have His backing. If God could sacrifice Jesus while we were still in sin, what will God hold back from us? [Rom.8:31-32]. Since God is for you, no one can be against you. You need to face that panel knowing Who Is with you. Write that proposal knowing Who Is with you. Ask that woman to marry you knowing Who Is with you. Fear can cause you to lose out on life changing opportunities for life.
Prayer: Father, You have ‘not given me the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind’ [2Tim.1:7 KJV]. Help me keep my focus on You through every storm, in Jesus Name
