In Need?
‘So God set another time for entering His rest, and that time is today. God announced this… Today when you hear his voice, don’t harden your hearts’ Heb. 4:7.
‘So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive His mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most’ [Heb.4:16]. It is so comforting to discover that God Almighty has accessed and classed our needs. He did not stop there; He decided to extend an invitation to you and I to obtain ‘grace to help us when we need it most’. When do you need God most? When are we most in need of a Helper as human beings? Usually it is at times when things are most difficult, at times when we feel we have derailed from the path of righteousness, at times when it seems our walls are crashing down, or in times of loss – perhaps of a loved one. Sadly, at such times when we should hide ourselves just before the throne is then a lot of us do the exact opposite. We run from God forgetting that safety only exists in the presence of God. It is outside that presence that distractions, chaos, confusion and attacks reside. Adam and Eve did the same thing after they had sinned against God. God understands us, which is why He extends this invitation to us saying come, not with your head hanging down, but come boldly. We know that our God is the Judge but interestingly that seat of God is not called judgment seat rather it is called the mercy seat. This means that when you need mercy and grace, your best bet is to run to God and not away from God. Don’t let that challenge distance you from God, that is when you need Him most. Paul faced a similar situation and he want to God and God offered him what He extends to you and I today. ‘Three different times I begged the Lord to take it away. Each time He said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me… For when I am weak, then I am strong’ 2 Cor.12:8-10. ‘…Obtain mercy and find grace to help you in the time of need’.
Prayer [song]: ‘I have made You too small in my eyes, O Lord, forgive me. I have believed in a lie that You were unable to help me. But now O Lord, I see my wrong… Be Magnified’, in Jesus Name
