Face To Face I

‘Jesus responded, “Salvation has come to this home today, for this man has shown himself to be a true son of Abraham’ Luke 19:9

Over the next few days we will be facing some questions that help us identify areas where we need to restitute. By now, you must have heard the Lord point out a few things to you relating to restitution. However, if you are still a little unsure, hopefully by the time we are done, things will be clearer. What have I taken that I need to give back? You might want to spend the entire day going over this question in your head. You cannot borrow something that does not belong to you without the knowledge of the owner. If the owner discovers and you claim to have just borrowed it; that is not borrowing, it is actually stealing and you need to restitute. At times, you might have legitimately borrowed the item and the owner happens to have forgotten about it. Instead of returning it, you hold on to the item with the justification that the person has more than one.  You need to restore such items back to their respective owners and let them decide if you can keep them or not. Some people have actually taken Bibles that do not belong to them. And they are still calling on God to arise and scatter His enemies. God in His mercy probably has not answered your prayer because when He arises, you might just be one of His enemies. Return the Bible back to its owner urgently. Yet for some, they have taken certificates that they did not rightfully merit. You need to give them back. You have been praying for a promotion and God seems to be quiet. It is probably because He knows that you need to give back that certificate. Climbing up the success ladder will only amount to a harder fall when the foundation is not right. You might be thinking that you have survived this long with the forged certificate. It is God’s mercy that has kept you. Go and retake that entrance examination and then confront your employers with the truth. Hard right? Well this is why it is called the straight and narrow. Have you taken another woman’s husband? You need to cry out to God and let Him, in His wisdom, show you how to restitute.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, let your mercy prevail over judgment. Comfort me Lord, do not let the ripple effect of disobedience overflow me. Be my strength and support Lord, I ask in Jesus Name.
