Fill The Void

Don’t be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit’ Eph.5:18

The mistake a lot of us make is that, even though we really cut-off from toxic relationships, we neglect to fill the void. When you cut off, it creates a void, particularly if you had emotional connections to that relationship. ‘Don’t be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit’ Eph.5:18. God recognizes that exiting an unhealthy relationship or offloading an unhealthy baggage will leave a void in your life. God proffers a solution; fill that void with what is godly. When you cut-off from the negative influences, you need to fill yourself with positive influences. ‘Throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception. Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes’ Eph.4:22-23. When you cut-off the relationship with that old friend that is always tempting you to sin, you need to fill the void. Start by praying and reading your Bible. Spend the time you would have spent hanging out with them, hanging out with the Holy Spirit. Then ask God for godly relationships with accountability. Ask God to send godly people into your life that will encourage you. Join a life group and make new friends. Get involved in ministry, fill the void by serving. You can only successfully conquer evil by filling the void with good [Rom.12:21]. Replace bad thoughts will godly thoughts, be renewed in your mind through God’s Word [Rom.12:2].

Actively flush out excuses, filter your connections, and fill every void in your life. As you do this, you will successfully offload the baggage of unhealthy relationships. ‘Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest’ Matt.11:28. The only way to rid yourself of the baggage of unhealthy relationships is to get into an active relationship with the Father, the Word and the Holy Spirit. Living a consistent Christian life is possible but only when you surrender your baggages to Jesus Christ.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, I invite You to fill every void in my life with Your unmistakable presence. Let Your presence chase out every destiny altering relationship in my life, in Jesus Name.
