In Love and Honesty to Grow

Godliness makes a nation great, but sin is a disgrace to any people’ Prov.14:34

Nigeria is God’s own, and it is important that we start to see her that way. God is personally involved in the affairs of this country and we need to be thankful for that. There are a lot of prophecies hanging over Nigeria. We have to stay expectant and trust God that every positive prophecy for this nation will come to pass. We need to keep on believing and keep striving to keep what is ours. Nigeria is not their country, it is our country. Yes we are praying for our leaders but what about you? What do you want to hand over to your children? What will their generation have to contend with if everything is lost? This should bother you and keep you up at night. If it doesn’t then something is wrong. Prophecies have been spoken over this nation and prophecies have been spoken over you personally. How do they get fulfilled? We cannot receive a prophesy and behave contrary to the prophecy and expect it to come to pass. Take the story of Samson the Nazarene. God’s prophecy concerning him was that he will be a Nazarene until he dies. God never intended that he would grind corn and wheat for the enemy with his eyes gouged out. This was not part of God’s plan. Samson acted contrary to the prophecy. He refused to let strange women be and would fight his parents just to fulfill his selfish desires. Why must you sacrifice the destinies of others that are connected to you because of what you will gain. It is so important that as a nation we see what is bad as bad. We cannot celebrate what is wrong and expect it to die out. We have to make a conscious effort to be the change that will impact our generation. The change that will foster a better Nigeria for generations unborn. It is a personal resolve, a decision to say no to corruption. ‘ A nation divided against itself cannot stand’. We need to be united in vision and in mission. Start with yourself and check where you have allowed corruption to thrive, then eliminate it. Is it going to be convenient? Definitely not, but it will be worth it. It has to start with you and me.

Thought: We grow through commitments. Commit to saying no to corruption. Remember your pledge, the national pledge, and stay faithful, loyal and honest. God bless Nigeria.

Prayer: Father, help me and every other Nigerian that commits to saying no to corruption keep our vows and uphold our pledge to this nation. Thank You for loving Nigeria in Jesus Name.
