Now What: Get busy
Jesus also said, “Here is another illustration of what the Kingdom of God is like: A farmer planted seeds in a field, and then he went on with his other activities’ Mark 4:26-27.
Waiting for the physical manifestation of the God’s word concerning any area of our lives is a lot of work. Even after the manifestation has occurred, it still takes a lot of work to ‘walk’ in the new victory. We can see this in the life of a farmer. The farmer never takes a vacation. When the seed is sown, even though he doesn’t see the harvest yet, he continues to water it and weed the ground around it. Hence it is safe to conclude that it is for the very reason that the farmer cannot see the harvest yet that he keeps working, watering and weeding. We must learn from the farmer, the fact that you have prayed does not mean you should hang your boots. Similarly, the very fact that we have not seen the physical manifestation of God’s word in our circumstance is no excuse for us to stop speaking and praying it into our lives. You have to ask and keep on asking. It is called the principle of ‘continuous coming’. Even after the crops mature and are harvested, there still is no rest for the farmer. He has to tend to the post-harvest duties such as storing the crops, marketing, and selling. All these activities can be summed up into one word – WORK! Experiencing the harvest does not mean hanging up your boots. You need to stay alert so that the enemy will not break into your harvest. Hence, when the Word of God is sown into our lives, we must engage it so that it is not stolen from our mind and reality. The process of engaging the Word translates to work. Spend time listening to the sermon recordings repeatedly until that word takes root in your life and your subconscious. There are things that only God can do for us. Yet it is important to discern and distinguish your own part in what must be done. For instance, a woman whose husband has given into the snare of infidelity. God is able and will deliver him from that infidelity. Yet the lady is responsible for her attitude toward her husband. Rejoice about the victory that God has brought you into and still pray without ceasing.
Thought: We are partners with God. God will do what you and I cannot do, but He will not do what you and I should do.
Prayer: Father Lord, I ask for the grace to persist in the place of prayer even beyond the victory that You have given me, in Jesus Name.
