Transition III
‘A right time to search and another to count your losses, A right time to hold on and another to let go’ Ecc.3:6 [MSG]
With transition you can either emerge a victor or you emerge a victim. When we transition properly, we are full of life and are victors. When people fail to transition properly, they become victims which results in constant complaints. When people have changed but do not transition, the past begins to look good. They deceive themselves into thinking they had it good in the past. Salvation for instance is a transition. You give your life to Christ and you are saved from darkness into life. The Bible admonishes us to work out our salvation with fear and trembling. When people are not working out their salvation with fear and trembling, then the past begins to look like fun and something that should be cherished. Meanwhile it was slavery to the bondage of sin and death which God delivered them from. The truth is that there is nothing behind. You are not missing out on anything by being a child of God. Where we are going is glorious and by His grace we will all get there in Jesus Name. The Bible tells us to remember Lot’s wife and what happened to her. God had chosen to deliver them from the land which was about to be destroyed but her heart was with the material things. God was taking her into the Promised Land but she looked back. We will not look back in Jesus Name. Jesus says ‘whoever puts his hands on the plough and looks back is not fit for the Kingdom’. Note, He did not say whoever takes his hands off the plough but He said just by looking back the person becomes unfit for the Kingdom. God is looking for a people whose hearts are with Him. People who do not murmur, do not complain, and do not look back. The children of Israel had left Egypt but they were never able to transition into the Promised Land. The changes they prayed for and desired so badly. They never were able to receive it even with God’s miraculous provision. There is a lot of difference between change and transition. Changes are instant, while transition takes time and work.
Prayer: Father, open my eyes to see everything that is slowing down or hindering my transition phase. I ask for the grace to transition properly, in Jesus Name.
