Not Now, Not Ever
‘…Say this to the people of Israel: Yahweh, the God of your ancestors – the God of Abraham …Isaac, and …Jacob… This is My eternal name, My Name to remember for all generations’. Ex. 3:15
Moses was the man who got into trouble trying to help God’s people in the first place. Then God appears to him and instructs him to go back and help these same people. However, the major difference this time is that God promised to be with him. Moses got there and performed amazing signs and wonders; he experienced God real time. He was leading hundreds of thousands of people away from slavery to a land of promise he had never before seen. When they got to the red sea, Moses panicked. The people of course offered him no help instead they began to accuse and harass him. As far as they were concerned, being in slavery was better than being trapped between the red sea and Pharaoh’s army. And the Bible says Moses cried unto God because he too was rattled. We all get to this point in life where you had tried something you were sure about, got burnt and left it. Then God sends you back. God sending you back is no guarantee that you will not come to red seas. Being a leader is tough because when people have issues with God, they will take it out on you. And God said to Moses, why are you crying to me? In other words, have I failed you before? Tell the people to keep moving but you raise your staff. Moses obeyed, the red sea parted and they walked on dry ground. Has God failed before; is there anything He said He will do and He did not do? God will not fail you, not now, not ever. God yesterday is the same today, if He needs to part the red sea, He still would. God is able to make a way where there seems to be no way. Meaning the earths blue prints are in His hands and He reserves the rights to call forth new paths. In the quoted scripture, God is saying check My track record with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Check with Jesus and Paul, I did not fail them and I will not fail you, not now, not ever.
Prayer: Father, I recall Your promise to be with me and not abandon me. I know that You who did not fail Abraham, Isaac and Jacob will certainly not fail me either, in Jesus Name.
