Stop Making Excuses

‘If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God whom we serve is able to save is. He will rescue us from your power, Your Majesty’ Daniel 3:17

God will not work with our timing but we have the assurance that He will always come through for us. Many times, because we love God and we don’t want to offend Him, we find ourselves making excuses for Him. God does not want us to make excuses for Him. God says I Am Who I Am; in other words, I AM able to perform. The secret of David’s victory is simple, every time he was faced with a challenge, you will see repeatedly and in different ways, ‘and David inquired of the Lord, shall I go or shall I hide, should I fight or should I run’. David knew that he did not have to make excuses for God.  David knew that if God says go it means God has gone ahead and this translates to victory. David always checked with God. I want to challenge you today, regardless of what you are struggling with in your health, education, finances, or family, inquire of the Lord and stop making excuses. Turn to God and God will not fail you. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego had experienced God’s favour in a strange land. Then a decree came and they were given two options, worship the idol or be thrown into the fiery furnace. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego could have said the king is the authority over us. Let’s go with the motions and plead the Blood of Jesus afterward. They knew beyond question that the position they were enjoying could only have been attained by the grace of God. Therefore, maintaining that position would take God alone. ‘Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego replied. O Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before youDan.3:16. No need for excuses. Why do you want to sustain by your strength what you got by the grace of God? Why do you think that you have to bow [compromise] to sustain a position that you did not get by your strength. ‘…the God whom we serve is able to save us…’ We do not need to make excuses for God; God will complete His work without your input. As touching God’s ability, there is no question.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, having entrusted You with my needs, I admit to trying to speed things up by my strength. I repent and I ask for forgiveness. I trust that You will finish the work that You have begun, in Jesus Name.
