Don’t Be Tired
‘…Now pick up the other arrows and strike them against the ground. So the king picked them up and struck the ground three times. But the man of God was angry with him. You should have struck the ground five or six times! …Now you will be victorious only three times’ 2Kings 13:18-19.
Many of us want glory in certain areas of our life. We want to experience God in new ways but are not willing to pay the price. If you want to experience God’s glory, if you want to experience significant change in your marriage, or your carrier, you have to go on your knees and stay there. Even when you are physically tired and your knees and ankles are hurting you have to remain in that posture to breakthrough. Timing is also very important. A lot of people want glory in certain areas of their lives, they know what they need to do but they think they can do it whenever they like. No at all, you have to do what needs to be done whether you feel like it or not. An adage states that ‘anyone who wants to eat the honey in a rock will not mind the mouth of the axe’. When you know God has released something to you and you know that the gap to translate it from the spiritual to the physical is prayer, you will not joke around. ‘God has blessed us with blessings in heaven’ Eph.1:3. But we don’t need it in heaven, we need it here on earth and we have to work to transport it here. The connecting links in many cases are prayer, obedience, persistence, and sacrifice. God has shown some people what to do but they are not doing it because the circumstances are not favorable. If you are waiting for circumstances to be ideal for you to do what you have to do for God in that aspect of your life, it will never happen [Eccl.11:4]. You have to do it because it needs to be done and not because the circumstances are right. The enemy will give you no rest, in fact scripture say he is roaming seeking who to devour, so you cannot afford to sleep or be sluggish. If the shepherds had gotten tired of watching over the flock at night and they had gone to sleep, they would not have seen the glory. If Jesus had gotten tired and given up at gethsemane, where would we be today? To move to that level that we desire, you need to identify the required routine for the desired result and stick to it. Be persistent in your asking, seeking, and knocking.
Prayer: Father, I exchange my weakness for Your strength, so that I will not faint in the face of adversity. May I never be tired or give up at the door of my breakthrough, in Jesus Name.
