God’s Ultimate Desire

‘In every place of worship, I want men to pray with holy hands lifted up to God, free from anger and controversy’ 1 Tim.2:8

This season more than any other, God will position people around us that are close to us but far from God. God’s ultimate desire is that ‘men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands’. There are two ways we can go about presenting the ultimate gift to the people around us. We could either bring the ultimate gift to the people or we could bring them to the ultimate gift. Whether we take the gift to them or we bring them to the ultimate gift, the ultimate is for them to receive the ultimate gift. This is the ultimate desire of our Father in heaven. I believe God wants us to use both approaches this season. Take some time out to think about the people around you this season. And identify those who are close to you whether in proximity or relationship but are far from God. These are the people that God wants you and I to bring the ultimate gift to or bring them to the ultimate gift. Let the ultimate gift bridge the gap between them and God. ‘There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved’ Acts 4:12. There is no salvation in any other. No matter how you love that person, if they have not accepted Jesus Christ as their Saviour then he/she is not saved. ‘Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me’ John 14:6. God is relying on us to share Christ Jesus this season. The fact that that loved one is doing good deeds is not enough to save them. Cornelius was a good man who gave regularly to those in need. Yet God had to send Peter to take the ultimate gift to the house of Cornelius [Acts 10].  There is someone in your life that is close to you but far from God. God wants you to bring the ultimate gift to that person. You do not need to be a professor or have a Ph.D. to preach Jesus. Don’t wait until you have acquired all the knowledge because you can never acquire all the knowledge on this side of eternity. Just go as Peter did and God will speak through you.

Prayer: Father, it is my utmost desire that Your ultimate desire be fulfilled through me this season. Open my eyes to those around me who need Jesus and speak through me, in Jesus Name.
