How to be Spiritually Rich VI

‘After a long time their master returned from his trip and called them to give an account of how they had used his money’ Matt.25:19

Lesson 5: Maintain good habits. If you are going to be spiritually rich, you must maintain good habits. The spiritually rich know that success is as a result of consistence. If you are going to be successful over the long hull, you have to learn the power of good habits. You have to learn to do things right, no matter how small and inconsequential they appear to be. Take prayer for instance, the instruction is to read your Bible and pray every day. The popular Sunday school song instructs us to do this if we are to grow. You don’t pray one day, two days; in fact when you sing you still feel goose pimples. So you think this prayer thing may not be as important after all. The truth is when the wind blows you will know how important prayer is. There are things that you have to do consistently. The spiritually poor people do not realize the power of consistency. They make wrong decisions and since there is no instant consequence they think everything is fine and God must understand. Making poor decisions over time is the formula for failure. When you make good decisions over time that is the formula for success. A young man in his early twenties was really anointed, as in fire literally comes out of his mouth when he preaches. People were amazed at his level of anointing. What they did not know was that from the time he was 16 [teenagers please pay attention to this] he prays 3-6hrs every day. Then you wake up one day and just want to fling spiritual muscle. And heaven is wondering who you are. Meanwhile some people are consistent and you think they are crazy; they are not crazy, they are consistent! You need to realize that for you to be spiritually wealthy, you have to make the right decisions consistently. It has nothing to do with whether you feel good about it or not. You do not have to feel good. I’ll give you a personal confession; it is not every time I feel like praying and that is the truth. There are times that I feel like praying, do not get me wrong, I love to pray. But there are times I do not want to pray but guess what I do, I pray. There are only two times to pray, when you feel like and when you do not feel like. So what do you do? you pray.

Prayer: Father, help me to embrace and practice the principle of continual-coming. To consistently practice the habits You have taught me, in Jesus Name.
