Error To Avoid I

‘This is how it will be with whoever stores up things for themselves but is not rich toward God’ Luke 12:21

‘But God said to him, You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?’ In learning from the man in the parable Jesus told, the next step to growing financial roots is do not love wealth. Don’t love money. The Bible says that ‘the love of money is the root of all evil’. If you have a friend that really loves money be careful because that friend can sell you under the right condition and pressure. You must not love money. If Jesus is the Lord of your life, then it should show in your cheque-book. ‘Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also beMatt.6:21. From January to December last year where did your money go? That is where your heart is also. If Jesus is the Lord of your life, it will show in your daily choices. Jesus said to Peter and to the twelve disciples ‘are you going to desert me also’. Peter answered and said ‘where will we go? We have left everything and we have followed you’. In other words, Peter was saying Jesus we do not have a plan B. You are our plan ABC &D.  The question to you is, is Jesus your ‘plan A’? Or is He ‘plan A’ but you are happy because you have another option. For some people Jesus is their ‘plan B’ because they have chosen to try their own way first and then God is ‘plan B’. I have had a couple of people who are going through financial challenges come to me. The first question I ask them is ‘have you prayed about it?’ In other words, have you taken it to God first? The people who do not have God as their ‘plan A’ would usually say no. I am always amazed at such people, people who do not consult God but are comfortable to start out with their own plan and then consult man even before they think about going to God. Jesus must be your plan A-Z. Set your heart on God and God alone.

Prayer: Father, teach my heart to be rich towards You. That I will grow from strength to strength daily in Your Word and by Your Spirit, in Jesus Name.
