Fresh Word

‘Give us day by day our daily bread’ Luke 11:3 [KJV]

If the only ‘God said’ that you know is ‘my wife said that God said’ or ‘our pastor said that God said’ then there is a problem. When your wife is not around, you will be in serious trouble. Don’t be an Aaron to Moses or like Aaron when Moses is not around you will also be pressured into making a golden calf [Ex. 32]. Aaron was always relying on second hand information. He was a spiritual scavenger. Moses will go before God and hear the Word fresh. Make up your mind to hear the Word from His mouth fresh daily. There are a lot of tools to help you achieve this. The Fresh Fire devotional is one of such tools to jumpstart a daily meeting with God. It is not meant to be the ultimate of your hearing from God. Hear the Word from God’s mouth, take the time and pray. [Read Luke 11:11, Isa.55:10, Matt.6:11, Luke 4:4].

In Gen.26:22, ‘Abandoning that one, Isaac moved on and dug another well. This time there was no dispute over it, so Isaac named the place Rehoboth (which means “open space”), for he said, “At last the Lord has created enough space for us to prosper in this land’. You will never see two eagles fighting over the same food. However for chickens, this is the norm. If one chicken finds a worm, all the others want that same worm. Perhaps that worm did not appeal to anyone initially but as soon as one goes for it all the others will rush forward. They may even resort to pecking themselves blind just for that worm. Eagles do not behave like that.

How does that apply to us? Eagle Christians must not back bite, strive, quarrel, or be petty. You have to let pettiness go. Eagles are self-deterministic; they chart their own course. They refuse to wait for handouts from others. A lot of people are saying the economy is bad yet there are people who are still thriving. Get over your self and do away with your pride. There is very much land to be possessed. The problem is that you want to do something that is prestigious. Make up your mind to be an eagle and start charting your own course.

Prayer: Lord, I commit to seeking direction in Your Word daily as I grow along the path You have set before me so that I will bear much fruit, in Jesus Name
