Maritally Faithful
What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder’ Mark 10:9.
The eagle is maritally faithful until death. When a male and female eagle pair up, note eagles lives up to 120 years, they stay faithful till death. They do not cross fences like chickens. The eagle is committed to its spouse until death. In the eagle community, there is marital dignity. Unlike other birds, eagles don’t mix their mates – they don’t play games. The implication to us is pretty straightforward. Once you are married, you are married for life. So before you marry, look well. For those who are still single you are best positioned. You have an advantage so open your eyes but once you get married please close them. You have to live with what you have, work together, and grow as Christians. The reason a lot of marriages are failing is because people think they have options. I speak to singles that are about to get married and the fillers I get is that they think this is an experiment. If it does not work then they can move on. What do you mean ‘if it does not work’? Have you not read that ‘what therefore God has joined together let no man put asunder’ Mark 10:9. Did your parents give you away, did he pay the bride price? Then it is God that has joined you.
The eagle is maritaly faithful till death. You will never see a divorced or separated eagle. Some people think separation is an option. I have news for you; separation is not an option. You are in the boat together – wearing the same life jacket. You are not going anywhere – so resolve your issues. It is either you rise together or sink together. As believers we will rise together. The mentality has to be ‘in it for life’. The earlier you realize this, the earlier you roll up your sleeves and treat the other person nicely. Know that what you plant is what you will harvest. So be careful what you plant because harvest is usually more than seed. God wants us to be maritaly faithful. Perhaps the reason why some are still not married today is because you’ve not gotten to that point where you say before God ‘till death do us part’ and mean it. If you’re still single then resolve today to be maritaly faithful to your spouse to be.
Prayer: Father, I ask for the grace to be maritaly faithful and to stay maritaly faithful. I ask for the grace to align to Your plan for my marriage, in Jesus Name.
