Vision II

Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is heProv.29:18 [KJV].

A clear vision eliminates distractions totally. An example will be what ensued between Elisha, the sons of the prophets, and Elijah. The sons of the prophet said to Elisha, ‘your master is going to be taken away from you’ – distraction. Elisha’s reaction because he had vision was to sharpen his focus. Elijah himself put several distractions in the path of Elisha but Elisha was not deterred. I am praying that you will see as you ought to see. Secondly, vision protects you. ‘A prudent man foresees evil and hides himself, But the simple [foolish] pass on and are punishedProv.22:3[NKJV]. When a visionary sees that there is trouble ahead, he hides himself. Thirdly, vision makes you fearless. Elisha’s bold reaction to his servants distress call was because of what he could see. ‘So he answered, “Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” And Elisha prayed, and said, “Lord, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha’ 2Kings 6:16-17. As soon as the young man saw what his master could see, his fear disappeared. I am praying today that God will open your eyes and you will see. Most of us seem to be overwhelmed by the troubles that surround us. Yet I am praying that God will open your eyes to see the forces that are for you. Fourthly, vision eliminates guesswork totally. ‘Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is heProv.29:18 [KJV]. While I admit that there is a place for testing out things, yet a clear vision saves you a lot of guessing time. The difference between the eagle and a lot of other birds that have vision is that once the eagle sights something, it pursues the thing. Someone said ‘if you have a dream and you don’t pursue the dream it will soon become a nightmare’. Why because it will move from being exciting to tormenting. That idea has no value if you do not pursue it.

Prayer: Father, I ask that You will open my eyes to see as I ought to see and that I will see with clarity, in Jesus Name.
