Mantle of Praise

‘And when they began to sing and to praise [tehillah], the Lord set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten’ 2 Chr.20:22 [KJV].

To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified Isa.61:3. The garment of praise literarily means the mantle of praise and that mantle of praise is Tehillah. ‘The mantle of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified’. If only we will praise God. It is just like the writers of psalm 107 said ‘o that men will praise the Lord’. If only we would praise God, the Egyptians you can see today you will see them no more. If only we would praise God –hallelujah – give Him the praise that He deserves. ‘And when they began to sing and to praise [tehillah], the Lord set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten2 Chr.20:22 [KJV]. There is immense power in praise. As you understand this and release yourself into praise even beginning from today, for every connivance against you, God will raise an ambushment against them in the Mighty Name of Jesus. Hallelujah means everything we want to say to God. The highest form of communication to God is not supplication or intercession – it is hallelujah. It is worship. We are limited as human beings, so when we say hallelujah we are saying everything God wants to hear. It is more than just praising God. ‘Let them praise [halal] his name in the dance: let them sing praises [tehillah] unto him with the timbrel and harpPs.149:3. David when he was bringing the ark of God into the city danced before God until his cloths fell off [Read 2 Samuel 6]. This is a classic case of hallelujah. Everyone can dance before God, we may not have the same flexibility, but we all can dance before God. This is why David said ‘in the congregation of the people, I will dance’. It is a personal thing between you and God and everybody can push their limits.

Prayer: Father, thank You for the power that is in praising You. As I surrender myself to You in praise, send out ambushments against my enemies, in Jesus Name.
