Just Do It!
The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it. The world and all its people belong to him’ Ps.24:1
Jesus walking on earth is a classic example of hallelujah. God wants us to praise Him in an exorbitant way. God does not want us to hold back our praise of Him. God wants us to praise Him in a way that everybody around us will know we are praising Him. ‘He replied, “If they kept quiet, the stones along the road would burst into cheers!’ Luke 19:40. You have to be determined that no stone is going to take your place. The story starts by Jesus saying to his disciples go to village over there; you will see a colt, untie it and bring it to me. When the owners challenge you just say to them that the Lord has need of it. The disciples must really trust Jesus. Imagine your boss saying to you ‘I need to go for a meeting, there is a Mercedes Benz parked in the other compound with the keys in the ignition. Go and bring it and when they challenge you say to them my boss has need of it’. Jesus was staying back, he was not going with them but he was sending them. It just baffles me the effrontery Jesus would display at different times. He seemed to be in control and aware of who He was at every time. He could say at any point I need this or that. Throw the hook you would find money in the mouth of the fish. Take mud rub it on the eyes and the blind would see. Oh how I love Jesus. What gave Him the right since He is not a thief? What gave Jesus the right to send for what apparently does not belong to Him? Simple, He is the Lord of lords; ‘The earth is the Lord’s, and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein’ Ps.24:1. The donkey and the owner of the donkey belong to Jesus. So Jesus could place such demands. Jesus was telling them to do something that was utterly senseless. The question to you and I today is what is that thing that Jesus has told you to do that you are saying ‘they will think I am a fool, they will think this and that of me’. What is that thing? Do it! Jesus said to the disciples go and untie the colt in the next village, it did not make sense but they did it. Just do it!
Prayer: Lord help me recall the instructions that You have given me that I am yet to act on and please give me the grace to act on them immediately, in Jesus Name.
