Unconscious Prophecy

‘Here comes the dreamer!” they said… Then we’ll see what becomes of his dreams!’ Gen.37:19-20

For Joseph it was his dreams, for Abraham and Sarah it was a promise from Jehovah, and for David it was what he had witnessed God do first hand. One thing these people had in common was they knew what God had said concerning them even though everything else seemed to be working contrary. For some of us, we can identify with these people because we are in similar situations. Some have been married for years and are still trusting God for the fruit of the womb because you know that God has said about you ‘be fruitful and multiply’. Yet the very people who know what you are going through are the same people mocking you and calling you ‘mother of twins’. Even when they know you are still praying and trusting God for the fruit of the womb. They think they are mocking you but they are actually prophesying unconsciously. For others, they know that you are still struggling to get a job yet they see you and are call you ‘MD- CEO’ mockingly. They see you trusting God for a life partner and they are mockingly asking you where your wedding ring is. We tend to allow these things push us into depression and tears. God’s word for us today is ‘…be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the LORD your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon youDeut.31:6. Every one of us will go through the fire but guess what it will not burn us because God says so. We will go through the waters but guess what it is not going to overflow us again because God says so. Be strong and like David, even though he had been anointed king for years, played the fool before God and ran away from Saul. Let God’s promise to you drown out the mockery and in no time those same people will testify on your behalf that God does not fail. Like in the case of Joseph’s brothers who said they will see what will become of his dreams and God preserved them to indeed see what became of Joseph’s dreams. ‘God charts the road you takePs.1:6a [MSG].
