Pleasing God!

‘But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him’ Heb.11:6 [NKJV].

‘Look! He has placed the land in front of you. Go and occupy it as the Lord, the God of your ancestors, has promised you. Don’t be afraid! Don’t be discouraged!’ Deut.1:21. God knows that if you look at the land or you assess what is required to possess the land through your own eyes, two things can happen. You could either be afraid or you could be discouraged. Yet God is saying ‘don’t be afraid!’ You need to say this to yourself everyday especially in the season of sacrifice!

The question to all of us is what does it take to please God? Is it going to church on Sunday mornings? Well if you go to church on Sunday mornings it might be safe to say that there is something in you that seeks to please God. Unfortunately a lot of people think that it takes a ritual to please God. So they light candles and some accompany the candles with psalms. Some people have reduced pleasing God to some do’s and don’ts. Some are in church simply because they feel if they attend church they would have satisfied their guilty conscience. Some people can’t live with themselves if they do not attend. Some people think it is religion – ‘Christian by religion’ or the fact that their father built a church building in the past. Some think they have to kill every other person that is not their faith so that they can please God. Remember Jesus said ‘that some will think they are pleasing Him by killing you’. But the God we serve is able to fight for himself.  When they put dagon beside God what happened? God does not need anyone to kill for Him. What then does it take to please God? The answer is the faith factor! ‘But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him’ Heb.11:6 [NKJV]. The only way you can take the land that God has set before you is by faith. Without faith it is impossible to even move when God says so. Without faith it is impossible to please God.

Prayer: Father, I ask that You grow my faith so that I can live a life that is pleasing to You and take the territories that You have laid out before me, in Jesus Name.
