The Pleasing Factor

‘Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him’ Heb.10:38

God is a rewarder. God said to Israel ‘I have not told you to seek Me in vain’. There are certain things you should expect in seasons of great sacrifice and as you step out in faith. You should expect a miracle because God is a rewarder. So everyone that comes to God must first and foremost believe that He is – that God exists. As you approach God when He beckons on you to step out into the water, you must believe that God is. As God challenges you to sow a seed, you must believe that God is. Not just that He is but that He is a rewarder of those that diligently seek Him. God is not a rewarder of those that casually seek Him. From scripture we know that faith is the pleasing factor. In fact the Bible says that if you eat without faith you are sinning. Anything you do outside of faith is a sin. It takes faith to please God. ‘Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him’. The justified born again child of God shall live by faith. This scripture puts pleasure and faith side by side. In other words, when you know undeniably that God is prompting you to sow a particular seed yet you draw back, His soul will not be pleased. I just don’t decide the seed I am going to sow, I sit with God until I get a value. And when He challenges me with a certain value, it definitely will stretch me but I take the step because I want His soul to be pleased with me. The just shall live by faith. If you look at the components of our lives as believers, it is loaded with faith. You cannot even be saved without faith. ‘For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith —and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boastEph2:8-9. If you look at prayer for instance, we cannot pray without faith. Jesus says when you pray say, ‘Our Father which art in heaven, hallowed be thy name’. How do you know He is in heaven? By faith! Every step we must take with God is by faith and that alone is the pleasing factor.

Prayer: Father, help me approach everything I do daily as acts of faith in You alone, trusting in Your counsel, direction, and promptings, in Jesus Name.
