Excel in Giving II

‘And if you are untrustworthy about worldly wealth, who will trust you with the true riches of heaven?’ Luke 16:11.

The fourth reason why God wants you to excel in giving is giving is a test of your maturity. Many of us work between the hours of 8am to 6pm daily. This translates to 10hours out of our 24hours daily. Mostly you still get to do some brainwork at home. In other words, you work more than half of the day meaning you have mostly exchanged your life for the money you have. So if God wants your life, God will go for your money. If you cannot trust God with your money do not claim you trust God with your life. God is interested in your life and except Jesus is Lord of all really you will discover that He is not Lord at all. ‘And if you are untrustworthy about worldly wealth, who will trust you with the true riches of heaven?Luke 16:11. You need to be accountable. The money we have does not belong to us, we are holding it as stewards for God. As His stewards, He can require from us anything and everything He has put in our care. If God is in charge of our lives, He must be in charge of our financial resources.

The fifth reason why God wants us to excel in giving is giving is an investment for eternity. ‘Tell them to use their money to do good. They should be rich in good works and generous to those in need, always being ready to share with others. By doing this they will be storing up their treasure as a good foundation for the future so that they may experience true life1 Tim.6:18-19. You can’t take money with you but you can send it ahead by investing it in God’s kingdom. We all know people in our lives that had a lot of money and sat on the money until they died. It is either their family or children that end up taking over the money. No body can take acquired wealth to heaven. The only purpose for the wealth you acquire is for distribution. Dead people are dressed in what is called a funeral suit and it has no pockets. We brought nothing into this world and it is certain we can take nothing out of it. The only way to invest in eternity is by giving. What ever is not invested in eternity is left behind.

Prayer: Father, I ask for the grace to be rich in good works, generous to those in need, and to invest in the Kingdom daily, in Jesus Name.
