‘The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons’ 1 Tim.4:1 [NIV].

Thirdly, demons scheme to lure us away from God. You go for a powerful prayer meeting but you find that all you can do is sleep. Perhaps there is a demon on your case. Apart from those things, demons try to confuse our doctrine and even our understanding of God thereby luring us away from God [1 Tim.4:1 NIV]. ‘Some will abandon the faith’ – what is the faith? The simplicity of the faith; Jesus says ‘I am the Way, I am the truth, I am the life’ by putting my faith in Jesus and accepting His forgiveness I have salvation – that is the foundation of the faith. But there are all sorts of doctrines of demons going on out there but God will protect us. Demons use logic as a scheme to lure us away form God. While there is nothing wrong with science, I think science is fantastic but demons have used science to confuse a lot of people.  They suggest that you should think about things in the Bible and benchmark it against your education, how can a virgin conceive? It doesn’t make sense.

The fourth thing you need to be aware of is that demons want to paralyze you with fear. God has given you a word, said something about your future, or said something that has stirred you up to move in a certain direction. Demons will attempt to cripple you with fear so that you will begin to doubt God. Or begin to doubt if you can really pull it off. ‘Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.  For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind’ 2 Tim.1:6-7 [KJV]. So when you find out that you are always afraid to do the key things that you need to do in life, you need to begin to rebuke the spirit of fear that is a demonic spirit. There are things you need to do, some of us are in terrible – almost slave relationships. And God has shown you a way out yet you are not going that way because you are afraid. You’d rather be shining the shoe of someone else. Something is wrong with that and it is called the spirit of fear. But Jesus will set you free today.
