Holy Matrimony V

‘Marriage is not a place to “stand up for your rights”. Marriage is a decision to serve the other, whether in bed or out’ 1 Cor.7:4 [MSG]

There are men/women who have gotten married and sometimes a few days after marriage or sometimes one year after suddenly have no desire to be intimate with their spouse. You cannot keep quiet about this and allow the other person in the marriage to suffer. You need to seek help immediately because like the Bible points out, it is not about you anymore. Marriage is a decision to serve the other person whether in bed or out. Sometimes, the sudden lack of desire for intimacy has its roots in spiritual issues. To the glory of God alone we once dealt with a couple, the wife had raised a complaint that her husband had refused to be intimate with her after their first year of marriage. So we invited them to a counseling session. So we began to engage spiritually and as I laid hands on the lady she began to foam in her mouth. Apparently it was a case of a spirit husband. The physical husband was completely oblivious of this but he was battling with a spiritual force. So he may psych himself up on his way home but as soon as he comes into close proximity with his wife, every desire vanishes. After a series of engaging spiritually, God broke the back of the problem and sorted them out. So if you are a husband who is going through this challenge of a sudden lack of desire for your wife don’t take it lightly. I would advise you to get into counseling with your wife and begin to engage spiritually until you get to the bottom of the problem. Sometimes it is not spiritual but rather it is emotional. Perhaps your wife had treated you badly in the first year of marriage. Perhaps it is because she was financially buoyant and you were not in that first year of your marriage. So what you may be experiencing is a deeply rooted resentment, which plays out as not desiring intimacy with your wife. These issues must be worked out in counseling. You as the husband needs to take charge of your life and your home because God has made you the head of your wife. So begin to speak intimacy into your marriage and so shall it be in Jesus Name. Amen!

Prayer: Father, I speak intimacy into my marriage, into my daily relationship with my spouse. I speak understanding and agreement into my marriage, in Jesus Name.
