Ready Or Not?
‘About three o’clock in the morning Jesus came toward them, walking on the water… So Peter went over the side of the boat and walked on the water towards Jesus’ Matt.14:25 &29
A number of people struggle with the notion of rapture. To some the whole idea sounds funny and their concern is, ‘is the Bible speaking figuratively?’ If you say that rapture sounds funny, then what would you say about the virgin that conceived? What would you say about the red sea parting and the children of Israel walking on dry land? Or water coming out of a rock in the wilderness? How about resurrection or perhaps the turning of water into wine? If you are comfortable with God turning water into wine, then is rapture too big for this same God? To the God that can cause a transfiguration from water into wine and create the heavens and the earth, what is rapture? And guess what, God has done it before with Elijah and it wasn’t figurative. ‘As they were walking along and talking, suddenly a chariot of fire appeared, drawn by horses of fire. It drove between the two men, separating them, and Elijah was carried by a whirlwind into heaven’ 2 Kings 2:11. Elijah was raptured. Jesus in the ascension was raptured. ‘And it came to pass, while he blessed then, he was parted from them, and carried up into heaven’ Luke 24:50 [KJV]. Rapture is not a new thing with God. ‘Enoch lived 365 years, walking in close fellowship with God. Then one day he disappeared, because God took him’ Gen.5:23-24. For all of these examples they went away to be with the Lord but with Philip it was different. Philip was in Jerusalem one day and the next thing he knew he was in Ethiopia ministering by the power of the Holy Spirit. I used to know someone who was preaching, walked off the stage but he did not fall down and he walked right back on stage. You need to understand that with God such things are nothing. If you don’t know God then you would think you could put Him in a small box of logic. I’m looking forward to rapture, it is going to be awesome and I don’t want to miss it. The question is not if it will happen, the question is will you be ready? If Jesus shows up now are you ready? If not then sort it out today because rapture will happen. God’s Words will never return to Him void.
Prayer: Father, help me keep my focus on what is truly important and not try to reason out Your Words based on logic, in Jesus Name.
