Get Used To It!

‘But even if you suffer for doing what is right, God will reward you for it. So don’t worry or be afraid of their threats’ 1 Pet.3:14

Craig Groeschel says, “the easiest way to forget what God thinks about you is to be obsessed with what people think about you”. You go to church but your entire focus is on who is saying what about you or how the worship session and sermon have been crafted specially to ridicule you. It’s not about you so get over yourself! Stop being worried about being criticized as a Christian because as you up your commitment to God you will attract criticism to yourself. Some people who were friends with you prior to your deeper level of commitment will demand an explanation or the justification for your sudden commitment. How can you be going to church under the rain? Must you attend every meeting in church after all God can touch you anywhere so? Get used to it. In fact, you should be concerned when nobody is criticizing you rather than being concerned about the criticism you are facing. Check your life now if everybody is comfortable with you then something is wrong somewhere. The truth is if you are really following God you are going to upset some people. ‘But even if you suffer for doing what is right, God will reward you for it. So don’t worry or be afraid of their threats.  Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your Christian hope, always be ready to explain it. But do this in a gentle and respectful way. Keep your conscience clear. Then if people speak against you, they will be ashamed when they see what a good life you live because you belong to Christ. Remember, it is better to suffer for doing good, if that is what God wants, than to suffer for doing wrong!1 Pet.3:14-17. Keep your focus on God regardless of the intensity of the persecution you are faced with. Guess what, that was what helped Jesus to get to the cross. He kept His eyes on the Father. Let this be an example for you. You cannot afford to forget what God thinks about you. The moment you do the pressure of the persecution will become unbearable. It is better to be criticized for God than to be celebrated by the enemy.

Prayer [song]: ‘Lord prepare me, to be a sanctuary, pure and holy, tried and true. And with thanksgiving, I’ll be a living, sanctuary, for You’.
