Pursue Peace
‘Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty’ Ps.91:1
And if you look at the history of man, man has always been at loggerheads with man. There is no weapon that man has made that man did not use. Check, every weapon man has used. From stone that Cain used to murder Abel, to arrows, knives, guns, and bombs. So the question is not if the weapons that exist will be used, rather the question is where will you be when they will be used. For us as believers, God wants us to pursue peace and be peacemakers in three dimensions. God wants us to pursue peace vertically, horizontally, and internally. The only place where God has not sent us to pursue peace is with the devil. It may sound funny but there are people who are trying to appease the devil. The devil cannot be appeased! It is impossible because he hates you with a passion. Erroneously people attempt to appease the devil so that there will be peace and he will not be angry. The devil and his demons will forever be enraged at you. If you were to trace the warfare, it did not originate with you. But you remind the enemy of God and that is why he wants to kill you. I was counseling a lady once and while I was praying with her, the demons inside of her began to speak. Their intention was to kill her but I declared to them that it was too late. The devil hates you with a passion, the earlier you realize that the better for you. If you still think that you can manage the devil then I have news for you. It is a lie, the devil cannot be managed. ‘Resist the devil and he will flee from you’. As Christians we need to know that that is the only place where there cannot be peace. And God has not asked us to go and seek peace with the devil.
Vertically, God wants you to seek peace with Him. A lot of us need to make peace with our Maker. If your vertical peace is troubled then your horizontal peace cannot even exist. This is why you find people who have vertical peace issues lashing out in their relationships. They take out their frustrations on the people closest to them such as their spouses or their children.
Prayer: Father, I come before You in the Name of Jesus asking that Your peace will flood Nigeria and every citizen of this country, in Jesus Name.
