Agape Love

‘Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged’ 1 Cor.13:4-5.

All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right’ 2 Tim.3:16. How is your love walk? Agape is God’s Love. Embodied in Jesus is the perfect example of God’s love. This is the strongest kind of love and is the pillar on which every other kind of love should lean on. In other words, every other kind of love finds it’s existence and essence in the agape love. Agape love is the love that lasts forever. ‘And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor worries about tomorrow – not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below – indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord’ Rom.8:38-39. Jesus is the embodiment of God’s agape love and embodied in agape love is all the characteristics of love carefully outlined by the Holy Spirit. You need to check the health of your love walk against these characteristics. ‘Love never gives up. Love cares more for others than for self. Love doesn’t want what it doesn’t have. Love doesn’t strut, doesn’t have a swelled head, doesn’t force itself on others, isn’t always ‘me first’, doesn’t fly off the handle, doesn’t keep score of the sins of others, doesn’t revel when others grovel, takes pleasure in the flowering of truth, puts up with anything, trusts God always, always looks for the best, never looks back, but keeps going to the end’ 1 Cor.13: 4-7[MSG]. Anyone who loves is a child and knows God, but anyone who doesn’t love does not know God for God is Love [1 John 4:7-8]. God loves you so much. The Bible says God loved you so much that He came to die for you, even while you were still His enemy and sinned against Him. He loved you so much that He sacrificed Himself to take away your sins. Since God loves us so much, we ought to love each other. Chose to accept God’s love and sacrifice for you that you may truly begin a lasting Love Walk.

Prayer: Lord, I thank You for loving me, even when I did not love You. Show me how to truly love others like You, in Jesus Name.
