Redundant Faith

‘A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power’ Eph.6:10

Are you one of those people who did great works for God in the past but now you are redundant in faith? You could trust God to take you through university and help you graduate but now you cannot trust Him to provide you with a job. Or perhaps you had faith and God healed you of a terminal illness, but now you can’t trust God to heal you of a headache. Then you have allowed your faith to become redundant. The Bible says that it is impossible to please God without faith. Therefore, allowing your faith move into redundancy translates to not living a life that is pleasing to God. Before we get into how to build your faith back up again, it is important to start by confronting what caused it to happen in the first place. You might want to spend time with yourself understanding what made your faith slip into idle mode. This is such that you are now finding it difficult to have faith in the same God who gave you a husband to give you a child. Is there anything too great or too small for God to do? For some people, they need to understand that God’s answer to some of our requests is no. He is God and everything He does is in righteousness. If God has said no then you need to understand as His child that what you were requesting for was not too big for God to do but it probably was not the best thing for you. Another thing that causes people’s faith to slip into redundancy is when they do not really know God, for example, the children of Israel and the case of the twelve spies. While Joshua and Caleb who knew God were able to stand strong in God and in the power of His might, the remaining ten saw the giants and lost sight of God who had never failed them. When you identify what caused your faith to become redundant by the help of the Holy Spirit then it is time to go back to God and ask Him to help you walk worthy of Him. The Bible challenges us to remain strong by building our faith continuously. You need to revive your faith and nothing activates faith faster than love. Rekindle your love for God and He will doubtlessly rekindle your faith and build it up.

Prayer [song]: ‘Lord I thirst for You. And I love to be in Your presence. My soul will wait on You. Father draw me nearer, draw me nearer to the beauty of Your Holiness…’ Help me Lord, Help me, in Jesus Name.
