Honorable Word
‘God detests the prayers of a person who ignores the law… People who conceal their sins will not prosper, bit if they confess and turn from them, they will receive mercy’ Prov.28:9 & 13.
I have often heard people say they borrowed money without the knowledge of the owner. Some go ahead to invest the ‘borrowed’ money and then the investment crashes. Then they get into trouble with the owner whose first reaction is to bring them to justice. They pray and expect God to swoop in and save them. And when God does not respond they wonder why and what they should do. Scripture says ‘God detests the prayers of a person who ignores the law’ Prov.28:9. Firstly, the reality is that you did not borrow the money. You stole it! That’s where you must start – from the truth. The reason why a lot of us are not getting ahead with God is because we have refused to acknowledge our sins. How can you borrow another person’s money without their knowledge? The person may have trusted you with access but that does not give you the right to become the bank, the issuer, and the beneficiary. Why do you think the businesses investments went bad? ‘People who conceal their sins will not prosper, but if they confess and turn from them, they will receive mercy’. The first thing is to acknowledge that you have stolen. And like David go before God and confess that you have sinned. Secondly, you are not in any position to query God. The truth is that no human on earth, no matter how justified your position, is in a position to query God. God is God! You are praying that God will cancel your debt when what you need to do is ask for mercy. If you are a child of God, when you were stealing the money, the Holy Spirit would have been telling you the truth about what you were doing. Yet you ignored Him without apology but now you expect that you will talk and He will be at your beck and call. Ask for mercy and let God help you. If God decides to wipe the debt then praise God! If God decides to let you go through the punishment then praise God! God is not going to resolve the mistakes you have made in the way you want Him to. I believe God wants to have mercy on you and that is why you are reading this today. Go to Him with the truth and ask for mercy.
Prayer: Father, have mercy on me according to Your loving kindness. It is against You that I have sinned, have mercy on me and cleanse me, in Jesus Name.
