The Answer
‘When Jesus saw him and knew he had been ill for a long time, he asked him, “Would you like to get well?” “I can’t, sir,” the sick man said, “for I have no one to put me into the pool when the water bubbles up. Someone else always gets there ahead of me’ John 5:6-7.
What answer are you giving to the question that God has placed before you today? This story of the man by the pool [John 5:1-9] fascinates me and it is new to me every time I read it. What question exactly was the man answering? Jesus did not ask him ‘can you be made whole?’ Yet his reply was ‘the reason I can’t be made whole is because I have a formula for being whole. And Jesus in case you don’t know, God gave us that formula. The God of heaven always sends His angels to stir up this pool. But my friends have forsaken me and before I get there someone else has gotten into the pool. It is the first person that enters the pool that gets healed.’ And Jesus said to him ‘who sends the angel to stir the pool? Who brings about the healing? I am the Resurrection and the Life. Will you be made whole?’ So again I ask what answers are you giving God?
God is going to break ranks just to get to you because He has chosen you. You need to know that with Jesus it is no longer the first to enter the pool but rather it is whosoever will enter. This is so significant. So I have an announcement to every sickness, every disease, every infirmity, every affliction of the devil, every spirit of poverty, every spirit of abortion, every spirit of retardation – your time is up in the Name of Jesus. And Jesus Christ of Nazareth sponsored this announcement on the cross of Calvary – FULLY PAID! Some trust in chariots, some boast in horses, some boast in the people they know in the government, and some boast about who their parents are. But we will remember the name of the Lord our God. So the question is not ‘is there darkness around you?’. The question is ‘are you content with the darkness around you?’ The question is not ‘are there things you want God to do in your life or are there things that God can actually take to the next level in your life?’ The question is ‘are you content with those things or not?’ As the day breaks, the time for that darkness is over. Jesus is saying to you today ‘get up, take up your bed and walk’. Yet what will your answer be?
Prayer: Father, help me not to answer the questions You put before me in light of the challenges that I am facing but by Your Word, in Jesus Name.
