Dress Sense

The woman approached him,
seductively dressed and sly of heart. She was the brash, rebellious type, never content to stay at home’ Prov.7:10-11

The second lesson from Proverbs 7 is she dressed seductively. The King James version of the same scripture says she dressed like a prostitute. How does a prostitute dress? How do people around you dress? Unfortunately, it is difficult to differentiate between a prostitute and a normal person these days. Prostitutes know that men are visual and if they show him a little something, he will be interested. Sadly, even some businesses are using this as a marketing gimmick these days. What is the difference between that and prostitution? Science has proven that there are parts of the woman’s body that emit an aura that attracts men. They call them pheromones [the navel, the cleavage, the armpits area, the thigh]. Now when a female consistently comes to visit you and exposes those areas, run for your life.

There was a teenager who dressed so skimpily that her Pastor had to call her and talk to her. He started by affirming her and telling her who she is. Then he went on to tell her she was not a prostitute so she had to stop dressing seductively because it can cause her to be raped. The teenager realized what she had been doing to herself and she became very angry. She asked the Pastor why her parents never told her these truths and wondered what kind of future they wanted for her. Parents, you think you are giving your children freedom but in reality you are killing them.

You say you don’t want to be raped but you are dressing to arouse men. In fact, there is a new word for it – Hot! Hot actually means someone gets aroused [becomes hot] when they see you. Is it really your plan to go around arousing men? That is not the plan of most godly women but you find them uploading pictures on social media and tagging it ‘hot’. My conclusion is that they are ignorant of its meaning. What the seductive dressing simply says is you are offering yourself but some women do not understand this. Men who lack control will plan a rape because they are convinced that since you are advertising it, you must be interested.

Prayer: ‘Charm is deceptive, and beauty does not last; but a woman who fears the Lord will be greatly praised’ Prov.31:30. Teach me to fear You Lord, in Jesus Name.
