Always Rejoice

Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth’ 3 John 1:2 [KJV].

We are trusting God that by the time we are done with this series, money should never be an issue in your life again. If there is something that has been misunderstood largely in the Christian circles it is money. And that has given birth to questions such as; should Christians have money? How can you say you are a Christian and be so wealthy? Should Pastor’s have money? How much money should a Pastor have? Can money buy you happiness?

The truth is that money can buy you happiness. If you say that money cannot buy you happiness then you have not had enough. Money can buy happiness! What is happiness? Happiness is the good feeling you get from happenings in your life. So when something happens that is favorable, you feel good and that is called happiness. The problem with happiness is that it is fleeting and doesn’t last. Happiness is different from joy. Money cannot buy you joy. It is only the Holy Ghost that can give you joy. Joy does not depend on what you are going through. Whether something good has happened or something good has not happened, the joy of the Lord remains. It is the joy of the Lord that should be a constant thing. If you are determined to prove that money can buy happiness, buy your wife a diamond ring and you will know that money can buy happiness. You will be a happy man that day I can assure you. The following day can be different because the mood can change. But that day you will be a happy man. The problem is a lot of people have this erroneous view of money because they have embraced what the culture says or people say about money and never really investigate for themselves. Money can buy you happiness but happiness is fleeting and you cannot really be chasing happiness. In fact God is not really interested in your happiness. He is more interested in your holiness than in your happiness. Think about that. If you are happy, it is fine but He wants you to be joyful. He wants you to rejoice always.

Prayer: Father, I thank You for the gift of material possessions but beyond that I thank You for the gift of the Holy Spirit, in Jesus Name.
