Daily Confessions
‘Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth’ 3 John 1:2 [KJV].
Over the next few days, by way of setting a foundation, we are going to be learning seven truths about money. The number one truth about money that you must know is that God really, really wants you to prosper. Say it out loud to yourself ‘God really wants me to prosper’. Some of us need to confess this everyday we wake up for the next one-week because we have been programmed wrongly. God really wants you to prosper. God says that it is His desire for you to prosper. I am sure that you know the strength of passion that the word ‘desire’ represents. It is my desire for you that you prosper. ‘…there shall be no poor among you; for the Lord shall greatly bless thee in the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee for an inheritance to possess…’ Deut.15:4 [KJV]. I said by the time this series is over, money will never be your problem again. In God’s Favourite House, God is saying to us – I take God’s Word very personally- , there will be none poor among you.
‘Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand’ Phil.4:5 [KJV]. Now I want you to stop and think about this, why will God be telling you to be moderate? I submit to you that an admonition for moderation is proof of abundance. You cannot say to someone that does not have any food to eat that they should eat moderate portions. Does that make sense? The person does not have food on his table and you say just eat enough for your stomach. You can only say that to someone that has abundance on his table. God can only be telling us as believers to live a life of moderation because He expects that we will live in abundance. So we will live in moderation out of obedience to God’s Word. The quality of life that God wants you and I to live is in self-control despite the abundance He will provide. In other words, we have the abundance but we choose to live in moderation. In other words, even though you can afford to buy ‘xyz’ but you just choose to wear a t-shirt and jeans. Let your thought for the day be the fact that God really wants you to prosper.
Prayer: Father, I thank You for abundance and I ask for the grace to let my moderation be known to all men in everything, in Jesus Name.
