Cherish Jesus
‘And may the Lord our God show us his approval and make our efforts successful. Yes, make our efforts successful!’ Ps.90:17
The second truth about money is- prosperity does not imply divine approval. A lot of people have ship wrecked their faith because they equate prosperity to divine approval. They believe that because they are prospering financially then God must be happy with them and their idea of God accurate. I am the one paying the bills and calling the shots then my idea of God is accurate. I am sorry but it does not follow. ‘For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them’ Prov.1:32 [KJV]. There is what is called the ‘prosperity of fools’. Fools prosper but you will not be a fool in Jesus Name. The fact that God is blessing you is not proof of God approving you. You need to understand this. So if God is blessing you, you need to still cherish your relationship with God. A lot of people allow ‘things’ get between them and God. By the grace of God I gave my life to Jesus nineteen years ago and a year after I began to serve. By the grace of God eighteen years I have been serving Jesus nonstop and I did not backslide one day [Jude 1:24]. I have seen people who God has taken from nothing to riches and they have turned mad, I mean mad. That will not be your story in the mighty name of Jesus. I have seen people that have ship wrecked their faith because they equate financial blessings with divine approval. Totally different things! Samson made that grievous mistake and it wrecked his destiny. He was committing adultery, sleeping with prostitutes, but he will shake himself and the anointing will flow. And Samson thought that because the anointing was there, the approval of God was there. It was not until they plucked out his eyes that he realized you can’t continue to behave like a vagabond and expect that there will be no repercussions. We have to get to that place that Moses got to in Exodus 33 [please read it], where it did not matter what he had. What mattered was who God is and God’s presence with him. ‘The Almighty himself will be your treasure. He will be your precious silver’ Job 22:25.
Prayer: Father, please show me Your approval and make my efforts successful, in Jesus Name.
