Keep Moving Forward

Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and Son and the Holy Spirit’ Matt.28:18-19.

Ekklesia stopped being a movement and it became a location [kircha]. The shift in vocabulary signaled a dramatic shift in emphasis and direction. The church now became a tool for politicians to control the people because the church ensured that the people were united and loyal to the political sect. That was a major problem because that was not the church of Jesus Christ. We are seeing this pattern even today. What began as a movement dedicated to spreading the truth of Jesus Christ became inwardly focused and politically corrupt. While it is amazing that the church survived the persecution in the first three hundred years of its existence, it is more surprising that the church survived the institutionalization and the corruption of the subsequent centuries. But guess what, it survived it because Jesus promised ‘I will build my church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it’. The church has suffered so much battery but kept moving forward. The church kept moving forward. So the kircha of man could not confine the ekklesia of Jesus. In spite of institutionalizing the church, in spite of the corruption, God is raising assemblies of people that are breaking the ice. God is raising movements that are dedicated to promoting the truth of Jesus Christ all over the world. God is raising a movement of people that are not frozen. They are only committed to one thing and that is the lordship and propagation of Jesus as the Christ, the Son of the living God. God’s Favourite House is totally committed to the propagation and upholding of the truth that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God. Jesus says, I will build My church, I will build My assembly, My congregation and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. Jesus has given us a mandate to go and win souls for the Kingdom, the stakes are high and the implications are eternal. You are only a conversation away in many cases from connecting somebody to Christ. So the question to you today is who is that person [or people] that is close to you but far from God? Be deliberate about making the connection happen beginning from today.

Prayer: Father, I pray for myself and for the church of Jesus Christ, may our focus and direction remain on Jesus and soul winning, in Jesus Name.
