Where Power Lies II

‘You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name’ John 15:16.

I was an apprentice under one of my Pastors in the north who  is now a missionary in the Sierra Leone. I used to go with him to evangelize. His approach in those days was brutal. Let’s say, he enters a community to preach and everyone ignores him. Then he switches and requests for the blind, lame, crippled, deaf, or dumb to be brought out. At this point I’m surveying the exit points because if they don’t get their healing, you are in trouble. We had actually been stoned once while praying. So they brought a five-year-old child that had never walked in her life and everybody gathered. He prayed for this child and the child that had never walked before, began to walk. You can imagine what happened next. When they brought that child to church on Sunday walking, my faith was strengthened. I have friends that are philosophical and they have their opinions about religion. And I agree with them because people have been involved in a lot of corruption and atrocities in the name of the church. But Jesus says He’ll build His church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it. My reaction to people who say that God doesn’t exist is simple. They have not felt His power. If you have seen demons literally crying and running out of people, you would know that anyone telling you there’s no God wants to set you up. Taste and see that the Lord is good. If I am eating an orange, it is only me that knows how sweet it is. You have not tasted this orange before in your life, so you cannot tell me that this orange does not exist. Introducing people to God is so powerful. ‘You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name’ John 15:16. What is the key to answered prayers – introducing people to God. The Fruit are the people you have brought to God. Think about it, as a Christian, how many people have come to God on your account either directly or indirectly? That is your spiritual weight in heaven. I am sure that you have prayers that you want the Father to answer, prayers that only God can answer. Jesus is saying to you, bring forth fruit!

Prayer: Father, I pray that my life will produce lasting fruit consistently, in Jesus Name.
