Introduction 101

‘Heal the sick, raise the dead, cure those with leprosy, and cast out demons. Give as freely as you have received!’ Matt.10:8.

You can introduce people to Jesus directly or indirectly; let me explain. Imagine there is a program in your life group and you bring someone to the meeting. If the person receives Christ at that meeting, it is credited to your spiritual account. If you give someone a book and the book leads the person to accept Christ, it is credited to your spiritual account. So evangelism is not only about physically leading someone to accept Christ alone. I am certain that you have things on your prayer list that you have been looking unto God for. Jesus is saying to you, bring forth fruit! And so I am here to teach you how. Are you ready?

First Thing: You have to be willing to enter the zone of the unknown. Jesus says to us ‘go into the world and preach the gospelMark 16:15. The ‘world’ in there means leave your comfort zone. When people get saved, over time all the friends around them are Christians. So if they are asked to think about people who are close to them but far from God, you would find them struggling. When I got saved I needed to run away from my friends. If I didn’t run away from them I may not be standing for God today. My friends used to be bad boys; they can make an angel backslide, if it were possible. So when I got saved I ran for my new life. When they are going to hang out in the female hostel and they invite me to tag along I would tell them I have Bible study. They would tease me, laugh at me, and one of them even gave me an ultimatum of three months to come back to the old life. And I said to him ‘good-bye world, I stay no longer with you. Good-bye pleasures of sin, I stay no longer with you. I’ve made up my mind to go God’s way the rest of my life’ [song]. So sometimes that period of separation is necessary for you to grow roots. I told my friends they will get born again and today the most vocal of them all is saved. I had to leave to grow my own roots but at the right time I had to go back and fetch them. For a lot of us we just leave and we run away forever until Jesus comes. But Jesus is saying you need to go and reach those people because found people find people.

Prayer: Father, help me nourish myself spiritually so that I can nourish others, in Jesus Name.
