Be Wise
‘There has never been the slightest doubt in my mind that the God who started this great work in you would keep at it and bring it to a flourishing finish on the very day Christ Jesus appears’ Phil.1:6 [MSG].
The Potter is never in a hurry to finish one piece and move unto the next one. The Potter has a timetable for every piece, a timetable for the thoughts and plans He has for it. He is concerned about the future functionality of that piece and its durability. So, even when others think the work is complete or the clay itself is asking to be taken off the wheel, He knows to slow it down and take a look at it from all sides. What is He looking for? He is looking for cracks, air bubbles, and impurities because the potter knows that if he puts that piece of pottery into the kiln with impurities or air bubbles, when the fire heats it up, it is going to crack. Many times we think we are ready for that next step perhaps marriage, children, business, or even to take over the world for Him. But God is saying ‘slow down, let Me take a look at you. Let Me examine your intentions, examine your motives, check your heart, check your dedication, and assess your commitment’. But we are impatient. Yet God knows that He is not going to send us out too early because He does not want us to be destroyed. He loves us too much. That is why He is involved in every bit of our molding process and every detail of our lives and what we go through.
The clay really does not always know the full intentions or the full picture of what the potter is molding it to be. But the potter always knows what he wants to make with the clay. We have to learn to just trust God. Trust His direction, trust His leading, and trust His plans for our lives. Many of us have trusted God for something in the past and seen that thing come through. But now we are finding it difficult to trust God for another thing forgetting that it was the same God we trusted in the past and He came through for us. We feel that God could do that one because it was small. You are forgetting that when you were trusting God for that thing, then it was not small in your eyes. But now because you feel that you are trusting God for something bigger you want to help Him or seek assistance elsewhere. That is not wise. Slow down and trust the only One who NEVER fails.
Prayer [song]: I have made You too small in my eyes. O Lord, forgive me; I have believed in a lie. That You were unable to help me. But now, O Lord, I see my wrong… And in my eyes and with my song O Lord, be magnified…
